Insects and Spiders - Butterflies, Moths, and Caterpillars : Anise Swallowtail Butterfly
Papilio zelicaon
Kellogg's Yampah is a favorite host for Anise Swallowtail Butterflies.
The Anise Swallowtail Butterflies lay eggs singly, and they are fairly large--for a butterfly egg! There are 2 eggs attached to the back of yampah leaves here, near my third finger.
Can you find the egg here?
This egg is pretty easy to see.
It's a blurry photo, but that's most likely a fifth instar of the larva on yampah.
