Chaparral Clematis is a type of vine called a liana. It grows up around other bushes or trees and uses them as support, ensuring it gets to the sunlight it needs.
| This is one of the first times I had seen Chaparral Clematis. Because the vines had grown up over a tree, I thought the Clematis was a bush or tree rather than a vine for quite a while. |
