The north-facing slopes on the Outside Loop put on an early spring display of California Milkmaids.
A stand of California Bay Laurel trees.
On the Outside Loop Trail, there is a big hole. Turns out that a long, long time ago, there was a "Rockville Mercury Mine," and this was the entrance. I'm assuming that the mercury was extracted from cinnabar, the same material that was mined in other local locations such as St. John's Mine, Brownlie Mine, Hastings Mine, and Borges Mine.
Park workers made the area safer by placing boulders around the hole!
