Manzanita trees are excellent examples of art, in my opinion. Here are some manzanita photos that I love.
I love the color of manzanita bark! Then the twists and turns and flows and curls!
I can imagine a fantasy forest that would look a lot like this.

I had an aunt who loved to sneak up behind people at family reunions and lightly tickle their ear with a foxtail or other long weed until they finally noticed. She was a dear and thought she was hilarious! And that's what I think of when I see this manzanita 'hiding' behind the oak and reaching out towards others.
Let's twist again ...
... like we did last Summer ...
This tree is actually on the ground, 'flowing' up and over the rock.
Here the bark appears to be 'flowing' onto the ground.
